OUR FAVORITE THINGS: The Mindy Project

[Welcome to Our Favorite Things, a series featuringyou guessed it!our favorite things. From books to brands to tunes to film, these are all things we at Windrose want to shout from the rooftops about.]

I have nothing really to say… besides this: If you love your comedies to contain spunky characters, clever, witty (and occasionally hilariously crude) humor, a writing team that could easily rival that of Saturday Night Live in its prime, and raucous, tear-filled, belly-burning laughter, WATCH THIS SHOW.

Okay, I’ll say a little bit more, I guess.

Mindy Kaling —formerly one of the brilliant writers on the best show ever made (The Office, of course)— now writes for, stars in, and otherwise makes the universe a better place by being involved with The Mindy Project.

So what’s it about, you ask? One: thanks for showing interest. Two: I’d be delighted to tell you!

Dr. Mindy Lahiri is a talented OB/GYN working in New York City. She’s your down-to-earth, intelligent, ridiculously fun, soul-searching, lovable second cousin with whom you wish you could spend more time. Her crazy friends and coworkers are the type of people you instantly adore and fantasize knowing IRL. And if you’re still on the fence about her, let me help you hop over the edge with this; she’s just as obsessed with classic romances as you are, loves wine (like, wears-a-wine-bra-to-a-dry-holiday-party level), and is passionate about feminism, her right to “life, liberty, and chicken wings,” and her work.

Hold up, you say. She’s a cool, funny chick and she’s a doctor? Where can I sign up to be her best friend?!

Glad you asked! One, Hulu.com. Two, line forms behind me.
