Donald Miller's "Scary Close"

Donald Miller's "Scary Close"

Donald Miller's Scary Close is the kick in the pants you didn't know you needed. But it doesn't feel that way.

Written like a tell-all from your most trusted friend, Miller shares how he's managed to find true intimacy in his friendships, romantic endeavors, canine companion, and every relationship in-between.

He discusses his own struggle with being comfortable in his own skin, and how he learned to  cut people he cared about from his life because they weren't making him into a better man.

I read this book directly after finishing C.S. Lewis' The Four Loves, and just like a fine wine, it brought out the flavor that love and relationships can add to your life. Platonic ones too.

As a girl in her First Year after college, I can say that this book will be my new road map for maneuvering the new relationships I'll come to know or let go of over the course of the next year.

Not convinced? If you're still not sold, then the free Scary Close soundtrack with artists like Ben Rector and Steve Moakler (hey-O Nashville roots) will surely help a sistah out.

Stop thinking and do the right thing: Drop the act. Read this book.

P.S. Don, if you're reading this -- U RAWK DON'T EVER CHANGE.
